Accompaniment & Advocating for Human Dignity

How can the concept of accompaniment serve as a powerful tool in advocating effectively for human dignity? Join the Ansari Institute’s Multifaith Integral Human Development Colloquium December 2 to learn more. 

The colloquium will welcome guest speaker Susan Nchubiri, a Keough School master of global affairs student. Susan is a member of the Maryknoll Sisters of St. Dominic. She has skills in intercultural living and community organizing and is passionate about integral human development, sustainable justice, and peace.

About the Colloquium
The colloquium aims to explore how various religious and spiritual traditions would approach the concepts and values of integral human development (IHD). Though the concept of IHD originated in Catholic social teaching, its framing is universal and advocates believe it can be applied broadly.

In an effort to explore these possibilities, the colloquium will bring in special guests from a variety of religious traditions to discuss how their belief systems inform humanitarian, peacebuilding, and development theory and practice.

The goal of the colloquium is for participants to draw connections and expand IHD beyond its Catholic roots to become a truly global framework.
