Students and community members from Saint Mary's CollegeSaint Augustine Parish-South Bend, and the University of Notre Dame will embark on a pilgrimage to Chicago to walk in the footsteps of Venerable Augustus Tolton (1854-97), the first Black Catholic priest to be ordained for the United States. Fr. Tolton is on his way to becoming one of the first African-Americans to be canonized as a saint in the Roman Catholic Church. April 1st is the 169th anniversary of his birthday.

Following our webinar series on pilgrimage, we will put into motion what we've learned by making our way to the Tolton Spirituality Center in Chicago. There we will visit the sacred place where he died and reflect on the meaning of his life and ministry.

If you would like to attend the pilgrimage in person, register your interest here. A registration fee of $15 student / $20 non-student adult covers transportation, refreshments, and lunch. Seating is limited! Once you complete the form, we will confirm with you whether you have a spot.

For those unable to attend in person, there will be an opportunity to share in the experience virtually. Stay tuned!
