The Ansari Institute provides internship, student work, and research opportunities for students in the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
Religion and Global Affairs Internship Grant
The Religion and Global Affairs Internship Grant is designed to support students who have secured unpaid opportunities at the intersection of international relations and religion. This grant provides modest stipends to students working with NGOs, think tanks, or governmental bodies dedicated to navigating the complex role of faith in global policy. Stipends are limited, may range between $2,000 and $3,500 per semester and summer term, and will vary depending on the number of hours worked and cost of living considerations.
Key Eligibility Criteria

Secured Placement: You must have a confirmed internship offer for the upcoming term. Please see below for a list of suggested internship sites! Internship applications are often due before the start of the semester, and require advance planning.

Organizational Focus: Your internship must relate to religion and international affairs.

Unpaid Status: This grant is specifically reserved for positions that do not currently provide a salary or hourly wage.

Visa Eligibility: All stipends for international students must be approved by International Student and Scholar Affairs, ISSA.

Final Presentation: Grant recipients are required to write a brief newsletter article on their internship experience.

As a note, international students may or may not be eligible for off-campus internships in the US; please reach out to ISSA at issa@nd.edu for more information on practical training while on a visa.
